To chime in, quickly:

In my opinion, a location nearer to the city-proper would be much more
preferable.  It would be a shame if people had to spend a week in
Schaumburg.  It's not exactly the softest side of Chicago.

I wonder if the Mayor's Office would be interested in helping with
this?  I would think they would want to foster any sort of
semi-international event that had to do with the cutting-edge tech
industry.
