<div id="yiv1915764784yui_3_2_0_16_133161356754449">The 5th International Seminar on Theoretical Physics and National Development (ISOTPAND2012) will be held July 9 – 21, 2012 @ the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Science Village, Abuja, Nigeria<br />
The First International Seminar on Theoretical Physics and National Development (ISOTPAND08) was held at the Merit House (Abuja, Nigeria) from August 25- 29, 2008. This first meeting was to pay tribute to Emeritus Professor Alexander O. E. Animalu who joined the prestigious ‘Age Club’ of three scores and ten on August 28, 2008. The event recorded a huge success not only because it was seen by all as an opportunity to give honour to who it was due, but it was also a wonderful forum to bring senior researchers and eager beginners together. The success of ISOTPAND08 motivated both the organizers (ISOTPAND International Scientific Committee) and the participants to reach the decision that ISOTPAND should become an annual event to honour an accomplished scientist that have contributed to propagate science in Africa and should remain a forum for bringing senior researchers and eager beginners together from within and outside Africa. There have been three other series (2009, 2010 and 2011) which were also very successful. Further, since the 2010 and 2011 series, a one week foundation postgraduate course has been included.<br id="yiv1915764784yui_3_2_0_16_133161356754451">
</br>More participants are expected at ISOTPAND2012 from within and outside the continent and the invited speakers have been selected to cover several fields.</div>
