This is an ancient argument (in computing years), and will never be
resolved satisfactorily.

There are cultural biases and software limitations ("bugs") that
ensure this will be the case for a long time to come.

I don't see a need for this to get argued again.  Consistency within
the docs would be nice, but probably isn't going to happen.
