Following the lead of  functools.wraps seems to be a sensible way to go, even if the "onion-like" behavior seems more natural to me. Since I am an user of IPython, it is my interest to have this functionality working. Consider this added to the list of feature requests I have for the decorator module. If it will enter in the next release of the module I will keep you informed.</blockquote>
