As a debian user myself I would not have thought it impossible, it
just takes longer, new packages can take several months to enter
into unstable, but once in the process goes relatively fast.<br>

I speak here only as an observer of the process, I of course defer
to Sandro for the details (p.s. congratulations for holding and
getting 1.4.x into jessie at the 11th hour).<br>
