Yes, PyPy uses the same stdlib as CPython.  Sometimes they are slightly modified to cope 
with pypy differences, but this is not the case here.

I've seen that you filed http://bugs.python.org/issue14251
Closing this one -- pypy will take whatever changes are made to the CPython stdlib.
