Initial Comment:
I installed Python 2.3.2 (Python-2.3.2-1.exe) over 2.3 
on WinXP.

I assumed that this removes Python 2.3, but aside from 
Python 2.3.2, the software section of the control panel 
still has a (stale?) reference to Python 2.3.

When I try to remove 2.3, I get a dialog saying that 
2.3.2 is about to be removed. This looks inconsistent.

Perhaps some cleanup is missing in the installation 
procedure?
