That hasn't been my (admittedly limited) experience. In many of the forums
and lists I've been on, this kind of change gets a "Hey guys, we're
thinking of ... so speak up now if you have any objections." before it
happens. Nobody ever objects, but I really think this sort of thing goes a
long way to maintaining a happy community. Emotions are funny like that.
Nobody ever says "GTFO if you have any objections", and for good reason.
