    With the more general use of python for access to database<br>

    information, numpy and scipy analysis, and web posting, it seems

    that<br>

    there should be more and better means of reporting from python. Some

    of the existing tools are too low-level for general use (such as

    Reportlab). <br>

    As far as I can tell, there are no tools that approach the

    high-level functionality<br>

    of Proc Report, as used in SAS. Pagination with headers and footers,<br>

    and column-spanning headers are some specific tool limitations.  I<br>

    believe that there would be even more usage of python in science and<br>

    industry if there were better tools for reporting.<br>
