Yes, IronPython is a good software.

But WARNING:
  IronPython (IP) is really different: IP don't run Pywin32 ; IP don't run 
normal Python environment ; IP don't run many modules / libraries / your 
(actually) scripts.

  AMHA, IP est good... if you (re)-start from zero.
