[Pythonmac-SIG] Installing Python in an iMac

    Check the MacOS version number for the Power Mac 8500. (Is it less
than 8.6?) I got errors like that when installing under MacOS 8.6,
though installing with "extensions off" worked as I recall. (Hold the
shift key down when starting up the iMac.)
