I think you will just need to set your own priorities (or rather think
that you already have): if secrecy is important to you because you fear
you can't otherwise publish your results scientifically - that's your
choice. But that choice doesn't go along at all with free software.
You can't have both. For Python, it probably means we'll just have to
wait a few years for you to complete your research, after which you
can then decide whether you release your results as free software or
not.

Please understand that it's not that I am curious what your code
actually does. I don't want to see it if nobody else can.
