[soc2008-general] Patching bugs from bugs.python.org as a project.

Hello,

I am working on my proposals for GSoC (all of them in some way Python-related).
The one I am a bit stuck about is 'patching bugs from Bug Tracker' project.
Should I mention in my application exactly which bugs I want to patch
during GSoC?
Or should I just define which components I would like to work on so
that I will stay
flexible and be able to do the things that are most needed (and within
my skills set)?

I am mainly interested in the C-core and stdlib coding. I can work on
both Python 2.x tree and Py3k. I read python-dev and python-3000
mailing lists. I have already submitted some bugs and some of my
patches got accepted (I document it all in my application). I am not a
computer science-related student and during my terms I cannot do as
much as I wolud like to, but I observe what is going on, so I could do
something useful during the summer.

Cheers,
Wojtek
