[Spambayes] POP Account Problem

I assume you are using the Outlook add-in, then, yes? The Outlook add-in
checks mail based on notifications from Outlook that a message has been
added to the Inbox folder. It does not know anything about the POP
interface or the settings that Outlook uses to access the POP server, and
has no code to change the Outlook settings in any way.

Are you absolutely certain that this problem is caused by SpamBayes, e.g.
does the problem always go away if you uninstall SpamBayes? Are you using
any other Outlook add-ins or extensions? If you find that the problem only
occurs while SpamBayes is installed, please send us a copy of your SpamBayes
log files so that we can get more information (the Troubleshooting Guide
explains how to find them).

Subject: [Spambayes] POP Account Problem

We have Spambayes installed and running here on Windows XP machines, with
Outlook 2000-2003. We are using POP accounts that are obviously being
filtered through Spambayes, and it is altering the POP account settings
which after a week throws an error. Our usual pop/smtp settings are
precisionoffset.net, and the user is the account name, however, spambayes
changes the incoming pop to "localhost", and changes the user name to
"accountname/mail.precisionoffset.net", which then throws an error.

It appears that this happens every week, and it is my suspicion that it may
have something to do with the ip's renewing the lease each week. Please
help as this is a problem for us, and we very much appreciate this program.
It has helped us tremendously.
