[summerofcode] Point of Sale Project

Hi,

I would like to enter my Python-based Point of Sale into the Google Summer 
of Code.

Is such a project suitable for the summer of code?

Apart from the application form at 
http://code.google.com/soc_application.html there seems to be an 
application template as well.
Should this also be completed, and where would I send it to?

I am currently a part-time student at the University of South Africa, but 
I'm also employed at a company. I couldn't gather from Google's FAQ that 
part-time students weren't eligible, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
