[summerofcode] Question: sdtlib module motring project

I am interested in applying for the stdlib translation project
mentioned on the CodingProjectIdeas page; I find the topic relavent to
my recent programming language theory course.  I am concerned,
however, about the scope of the project.  I would appriciate more
information regarding a realistic view of the size of this project:
number of modules, module sizes, implementation concerns and pitfalls,
