I think it would still have some short-term value.  In the immediate term it
at least gives you the chance to a) clean up any current problems and b)
recruit a few extra volunteers to help police the site (hopefully separate
from the current maintenance crew who probably have enough work already).
Once that's done you can open it up again.

Skip
