When I try to execute it, it says this program is normally started by
windows. I did another search on uninstall and came up with my posts,
and in one case instructions how to do it, but not a word about the
removematplotlab.exe program. Another Google gets me to

advertises
uninstall, but doesn't look like it delivers.<br>

Well, I missed this.<br>
Install setuptools using the provided <tt class="docutils literal"><span
class="pre">.exe</span></tt> installer. If you've previously
installed older versions of setuptools, please delete all <tt
class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">setuptools*.egg</span></tt>
and <tt class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">setuptools.pth</span></tt>
files from your system's <tt class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">site-packages</span></tt>
directory
(and any other <tt class="docutils literal"><span class="pre">sys.path</span></tt>
directories) FIRST.<br>

This is a far cry from the idea of simplicity!<br>

I'm now using IDLE's path browser. I see matplotlib egg under
site-packages by not pth. But there are some pylab py,pyc, pyo files
there, which are part of MPL. <br>

Ah, the egg file gives the e-mail address of MPL. Maybe he'll know.<br>
<br>
Why not just delete .../lib\site-packages? <br>

At this rate, I might as well uninstall PY2.5 and start again. <br>
