
I think it makes sense because an RC release is likely to be picked up by some "daredevil" distro packagers like Arch, and then we have a better chance of learning about bugs. Still missing are some user tests. I did not received any message of someone using/testing the RC, no matter that in this version each user is greeted by a message window explaining the RC and requesting feedback.
I still wonder if it make sense to create an RC before every release.
