Sadly, this AIX specific bug is known for 5 months. https://bugs.python.org/issue36273
I already sent an email at the beginning of August, but the situation didn't change. https://mail.python.org/archives/list/buildbot-status@python.org/message/I5X...
I disabled PPC64 AIX email notifications since they waste my time and nobody seems to be available/able to debug/fix AIX specific issues. https://github.com/python/buildmaster-config/commit/939a5eae240c8da4c1d9849a...
If someone wants to reenable emails on this buildbot, please start by investigating https://bugs.python.org/issue36273 random test_threading crash (coredump). In the meanwhile, you can obviously continue to use the web interface to look at this buildbot, and new jobs will continue to be scheduled on it.
Victor
Hi Victor,
I have not had time to dig into this. I will use your hints on how to hopefully find a root cause, but the most likely culprit is memory related.
As an example, several months back I had to increase the memory assigned to the bot vm (lpar) or it always crashed. Fyi, the bot used to run in 2G RAM, now it needs 8G.
The PPC64 bot has much more memory, but also many other projects that run in parallel. Complicates replication testing.
