I find this quite complicated process and a barrier of entry.
FWIW, for BPO authentication we currently have direct links (icons) for authenticating with Google and Launchpad (on the left side bar). Adding a similar link for GitHub would help make it easier for new contributors (and probably make sense anyway). I've opened http://psf.upfronthosting.co.za/roundup/meta/issue656 for this. -eric
