Anyway, this is all a good discussion to have and I really appreciate you kicking it off. I've been following the __pypackages__ conversation a bit since pycon and I honestly don't have much opinion about where we want to put stuff, but I'm not sure that the impact of the folder is going to be as great to the user as people might imagine
Where is this conversation happening, by the way? I'm surprised I didn't know about it until Nathaniel mentioned it when he started his thread -- since I'm on a bunch of lists (python-dev, Distutils-SIG, etc). --Chris
