In general, I think it's better to be more open about long-term strategies within an organization and who is working on what and toward what goals, etc. That way people can make better decisions about what to work on and how to spend their time.
Yeah, I'd agree with that, and the fact I wasn't making the time to better facilitate that kind of information sharing is one of the reasons it seemed like a good idea to step back from the way I had been doing things and instead try to encourage more direct communication about what folks are working on.
