I just noticed you didn't get a reply to this or your other question. For distro specific tools like stdeb, you may need to look for assistance through Debian and/or Ubuntu specific channels - while we do see folks like Matthias Klose and Barry Warsaw here on distutils-sig occasionally, I don't believe there's anyone specifically monitoring this list for questions about the distro level integration utilities.
