I noticed that I have the same problem on my ArchLinux installation at home.
sudo python ez_setup.py setuptools==dev [...] File "/tmp/setuptools-0.6c8-py2.5.egg/setuptools/command/sdist.py", line 45, in walk_revctrl File "/tmp/setuptools-0.6c8-py2.5.egg/setuptools/command/sdist.py", line 52, in _default_revctrl File "/tmp/setuptools-0.6c8-py2.5.egg/setuptools/command/sdist.py", line 98, in entries_finder NameError: global name 'log' is not defined
How DO I remove setuptools?
An alternate solution would be to get the change-svn-wc-format.py script from the Subversion repository and downgrade your working copy of setuptools to that format.
Hm. I don't know if I even *have* setuptools installed. How do I find out? In site-packages, there's no setuptools egg and a "find /usr/lib/python2.5 -name sandbox.py" returns nothing. So the question is: How do you install setuptools, if Subversion 1.5 is installed? Best regards, Michael
