I'm trying to install python 3.5.5 on RHEL without root. I used the referenced --prefix to identify where the install is (per webpage). This worked in 3.5.4. PIP installs, but fails to install other modules. Searching for a solution I found a reference to an external way to upgrade PIP to a version where this problem is supposed to be resolved. I obtainde get_pip.py and ran it, but it too fails (below) for TLS issues. Policy says I have to obscure anything related to my company, hence the paths have been edited in this email.
