But in fact these work fine in current Python, probably since 3.3 when __qualname__ was added (https://docs.python.org/3/library/stdtypes.html#definition.__qualname__). Similarly, the docs claim only top-level functions can be pickled, but in fact methods nested in classes work fine. I actually had to search online to understand the difference between `truncate` and `floor` (admittedly, once I remembered that numbers are signed, and that floating numbers actually uses a bit for negation symbol instead of two complement, it became obvious) I assume that I won't be the only user having this trouble, especially for people whose mother tongue is not English. For example, if the current working directory is r"Z:\eggs", then r"\spam" resolves to r"Z:\spam". Also, a drive-relative paths such as "Z:spam" depends on the working directory of the given drive. Windows supports a separate working directory for each drive. Therefore restoring it using `locale.setlocale(locale.LC_ALL, loc)` does not actually restore the initial settings, and may even fail on some platforms (on mine it does). To me, absolute means regardless of a reference point. So, absolute path would be a path that refers to the same entity from whichever directory you reference it.
