doc bug: undocumented fields in tarfile.TarInfo

Hi, In the tarfile.TarInfo class, the devmajor and devminor fields are undocumented. tarfile supports character and block devices, but the undocumented fields are the only way to access the major/minor device numbers and actually make use of this support. These fields are only set for character and block devices. --Ravi Pinjala

Currently there is no warning in the python doc that using open() on user or other controlled filenames is dangerous.

Currently there is no warning in the python doc that using open() on user or other controlled filenames is dangerous. I think that a warning should be in the documentation to say that if you are using open() and you do not have a set file parameter (hard-coded) then you *SHOULD* check the filename will not escape or point to places that are not desired. Personally I feel that python should have an open() argument to say "do not go out side FOO directory".

Hi all, I'm planning on playing turtle with my daughter tomorrow and figured I should look into how to get going before I do so. It took me far longer than it should have to figure out how to do the most basic thing: from an interactive prompt (or elsewhere!) get the turtle window up and have a controllable turtle. Hello, I found a typo in the logger documentation: http://docs.python.org/library/logging.html#logging.handlers.FileHandler http://docs.python.org/library/logging.html#logging.handlers.StreamHandler These show FileHandler and StreamHandler as being defined in the logging.handlers module, when in fact they are defined in the core logging package. The fact that the argument is named "maxsplit" and accepts a default value doesn't mean it's usable as a keyword argument. It would be difficult to document a parameter without giving it a name anyway...
