Hi, At http://docs.python.org/release/2.7.3/tutorial/errors.html sect 8.3, the first example block should ask the user for an "integer", not just a "number". Hello, I was reading the documentation at: http://docs.python.org/library/multiprocessing.html#module-multiprocessing I came across a bug where the sample code doesn't run: Search for "getppid", which should be changed to "getpid". Regards, Matt

Hi. I'm looking at the documentation for the "atexit" module and it has an inconsistency The first paragraph says "The order in which the functions are called is not defined". However, the second pargaraph at http://docs.python.org/library/atexit.html#atexit.register says "At normal program termination (for instance, if sys.exit() is called or the main module’s execution completes), all functions registered are called in last in, first out order." which contradicts the first paragraph stating that order is not defined. I'd suggest a fix if I knew which one was right :) Regards, D.

Hello, to whom can help me! I'm a beginner in programming. I have a Toshiba Tecra A3 (1.60 GHz Intel Pentium M), and I use python v3.2.3. I'm testing the map function, /map(function, iterable...)/ but I do not get the expected result, as you see below: Test1: >>> m=[10,20,30,40] >>> map(str,m) <map object at 0x01007AD0> The expected resultwould be: ['10','20','30','40'] Test2: >>> defdouble(x): return 2*x >>> map (double,m) <map object at 0x01007A70> The expected resultwould be: [20,40,60,80] Where am Igoing wrong?Can you help? thankin advance Carlos Cardoso

bug report: inconsistent use of PyUnicode_FromString and PyString_FromString "5.3. Pure Embedding"

Hello, I was just perusing the Python docs, reading about extending Python with C. I found a minor typo at http://docs.python.org/dev/extending/embedding.html#pure-embedding Line 16 of the code sample is: pName = PyUnicode_FromString(argv[1]); But later on in the section, after the code sample, it shows a snippet of this code, but instead uses a different C function: pName = PyString_FromString(argv[1]); I'm not sure if PyUnicode_FromString() is correct or PyString_FromString() is correct, or if it doesn't matter at all. But whatever the choice, these should probably be made to be the same. I am emailing this address as documented at http://docs.python.org/dev/bugs.html Thanks! --Denver

BUG: Bad footnote in library/profile.html

At http://docs.python.org/library/profile.html#id1, the footnote [1] links to a note about the documentation. Based on the context, it should be linked to the second footnote, which is "Prior to Python 2.2, it was necessary to edit the profiler source code to embed the bias as a literal number. You still can, but that method is no longer described, because no longer needed."

error in regular expression howto.

Hi, i think i found a little error in the regular expression howto (http://docs.python.org/py3k/howto/regex.html). Concerning \w, the howto states: \w Matches any alphanumeric character; this is equivalent to the class [a-zA-Z0-9_]. However, \w is *not* equivalent to [a-zA-Z0-9_]. For example, the latter does not accept letterw with accents àéîü, whereas the former does. Jonas
