datetime time difference calculation detail

Sending this here because I suspect it is probably more worthy of a note in the documentation rather than an error or bug in the performance; but it can lead to perception of errors. Specifically, the default method of printing a datetime object that has been calculated as the difference of two datetime objects can lead to some confusion if the result is negative (i.e., print('%s'%(old_time - new_time))). I.e., the third instance in the above loop is to be interpreted as -1day plus 7 hours and 40 minutes. That is -24:00+7:40 = -16:20 (which is in fact -58800 seconds). I understand this, and can use it; but I did not find it intuitive. Possibly this is intentional behavior of the code, but I could not find documentation that explained the purpose of doing it this way. I could see this potentially leading to confusion (it certainly had me chasing a non-bug for a bit). So, perhaps a note in the documentation or a pop-up Warning when using a straight-up difference in datetime objects rather than the deltatime function. Dear Python documentation preparers, I just downloaded from https://docs.python.org/3.6/download.html the file https://docs.python.org/3.6/archives/python-3.6.10rc1-docs-pdf-a4.zip which is advertised as containing A4-formatted pages. However, the file docs-pdf/tutorial.pdf and others in there are actually using the US Letter (216 x 279 mm) page size, and not A4 (210 x 297 mm)!
