New submission from Rémi Lapeyre <remi.lapeyre(a)henki.fr>: The documentation states that "*key*, *default* and the result are str." at https://github.com/python/cpython/blame/3.8/Doc/library/os.rst#L224 but either I'm missing something or it's not actually true: $ python -c 'import os; print(type(os.getenv("FOO")))' <class 'NoneType'> $ python -c 'import os; print(type(os.getenv("FOO", default=1)))' <class 'int'> Only *key* needs to be a string as it is used to lookup the value in os.environ. New submission from Mark Bell <mark00bell(a)googlemail.com>: The documentation for itertools.product at: https://docs.python.org/3/library/itertools.html#itertools.product currently says that: For example, product(A, B) returns the same as ((x,y) for x in A for y in B) While this is broadly correct, since product first converts its arguments to tuples, this is not true if A or B are infinite iterables. For example, when A = itertools.count() and B = range(2) then the former runs forever using infinite memory, whereas the latter returns the lazy generator immediately for use.
