Is it the same in consecutive calls? Maintenance of Tutorial

I have recently decided to learn Python. I am reading a .pdf file titled “Python Tutorial Release 3.8.1rc1” Dated December 18, 2019. My question is this: As I read the document and encounter what I believe may be errors/omission, is it appropriate to send the information concerning these errors/omissions to this mailbox? If not, then assuming someone wishes to know of my findings, how shall I proceed? Thanks; Ray

2.7 installs for all users but 3.8 doesn't

Hello, When trying to install software for all users, and using VS Code, it only worked on 2.7 but not 3.8. That seems like a big problem. You shouldn't have to go into weird, advanced settings when the main installer screen mentions "for all users" but isn't doing what you'd EXPECT it to do--very misleading and confusing. Which RFC is currently considered for urllib.pars?

Hello there, Would that be possible to make it clear which RFC is followed by the urllib.parse? The documentation states rfc 1808, which 10+ years old. However at the bottom of the doc the newest RFC 3986 is also mentioned, but it's not necessarily clear it's just for reference. Thanks Andrea Moro

Where can I find the changelog so that I can find the differences changed everyday? Looking forward to hearing from u. Thanks!

New submission from Matthias v/d Meent: The Windows Embedded release (at least the x86_64 version) does not include the usual helper functions (exit, help, ...) when run interactively (~ python.exe). This is not documented at the docs of Windows Embedded release, which might mean that this is a bug. Documentation on Embedded release here (https://docs.python.org/3/using/windows.html#embedded-distribution) missing in interactive mode of embedded release: (output of diff): ['copyright', 'credits', 'exit', 'help', 'license', 'quit'] Notice that 'help', a builtin function according to the docs [0], is missing in the Embedded release. Even when embedded, a builtin should be available IMO. It is very well possible this is a long-standing issue since 3.5 (the first Embedded release), and this may occur on other architectures as well. I need a reliable way to run Python (not matter embedded or not) in isolated mode, but still having current directory in `sys.path` (empty entry). Ironically I could misuse normal mode to simulate isolated mode with specified %PYTHONPATH% (which is not much handy, by the way), but hiding Windows Registry keys would look pretty hard (it is impossible to make a bat/cmd wrapper). Possibility to search %PYTHONPATH% in HKLM entries makes it even worse. Empty entry in `sys.path` is a extremely popular thing, and many software depend on it. It looks like a bug that isolated mode cannot support such entry. # How would I fix it. Possibly we should allow another keyword for adding an empty entry (like we have an exclusion for `import site`).
