Recently, I have started learning string format method and came across a few things, where I am unable to get the clarity hence writing it to you for better understanding. https://docs.python.org/3/library/string.html#format-string-syntax in this link the grammar of replacement field was discussed but as marked in the picture below is there any significance for * in field_name(1) and + in digit+ of arg_name(2), element_index(3) and in width, precision of format_spec. I have searched for it online but had hard luck so couldn't find it. Hence request you to clarify if these are a typo or they possess a significant meaning, if so please provide an explanation or a resource which explains it.
