I agree, at least in some sense. And one of the questions I suggested needed to be answered is how far my experince could be generalized. My situation was - little outside direction, and a lot of pounding at the command line. So I cannot claim that my view is tremendously relevant to folks learning Python in some fundamentally different way, i.e. to folks being "educated" in some more formal environment. Which is one of the reason I can be reasonable in respect to anyone's suggestion that my concept here it not ready for prime time. Art
