I'm disappointed at the Python community for not better supporting educational efforts.  Ruby seems to be surging ahead of Python in popularity.  This seems like a step backward to me - Python with a bit of Perl ugliness added back in.


I'd be interested in learning more about what the Ruby community is doing.  From where I sit, it's MIT Scratch for the littler kids, then mostly Python for older, but still mostly extracurricular.  But that's just my niche.
