What countries have Python in official high school curriculum?
Hi again :) we want to promote Python in my small country (Lithuania), In high-schools we officially have Pascal (for 30years) and C++ (for 10years) now -- as it is accepted in final IT/programming exam (and olymiads). I know that it is not common to have programming exam, but still if you know some (esp, big) countries commonly using it while teaching - please let know :) Thanks -- Jurgis Pralgauskis tel: 8-616 77613; Don't worry, be happy and make things better ;) https://galvosukykla.wordpress.com/
There are definitely several high schools in the US which require computer science, and which use Python as part of their curriculum. E.g. I went to this school: https://www.stuycs.org/ Which has this intro course, that is partially taught using Python: https://www.stuycs.org/courses/intro1 It is not part of any national standard, though -- US is pretty far behind on that, and probably will be for quite a while. What could be a good approxomate way to get stats on how many kids were learning python (preferrably per country)? 2021-04-07, tr 10:01, Jurgis Pralgauskis <jurgis.pralgauskis@gmail.com> rašė:

Hello Jurgis, I am from India and I am a Computer Science Educator in my school( www.avm.edu.in). We are teaching python from grad 8 in our school. Actually we started coding from 2nd grade with www.code.org. In Indian our education board (CBSE) added python from 9th grade onwards. Here is a link you can check. Hello Everyone,I used to teach BASIC in our intro class at the High School (1975-1999) then we switched to python around 2000 IRC. This was a prerequisite for AP CSA.Be well,Al A. Jorge Garcia Applied Math & CSNassau Community College http://shadowfaxrant.blogspot.com

Hi, maybe there could be curated list / wiki -- of Python usage in k-12 national curriculums? that would help 2 things: - track how popular py is - share/discuss ideas (what/how to teach) for example now in my country we are discussing is it more meaningful to teach - sorting algorithms vs matrix manipulation (as both have double loop, but matrix is more practical and sorting is more classical) On Tue, May 4, 2021 at 3:20 PM Stephen Murphy <stephen.murphy91@gmail.com> wrote:
