Hi Margie, You can indeed create simple, or even complex, games using Python. (Although they will only work on PC.) In fact, quite a few people have done so! There is a web site called the "Vault of Parnassus" which has links to all sorts of programs written in Python, including games. The address is: http://www.vex.net/parnassus/ Just go to that page and click on the "Games" section. There are plenty of examples there to look over. The nice thing about Python is that if the file ends with ".py", then you can see the code for the game! Most games have the source code available. As for how to program games, the first thing you will need to do is learn Python of course! =) I would recommend taking the tutorials at python.org or getting yourself a book on Python. There aren't any game-specific books for programming Python, but just know that you'll use all the skills you learn in your Python book for creating games as well. Once you've done that, you should check out those examples I mentioned and head over to www.pygame.org, which contains a set of Python programming tools for building games. They even have an article for "newbies" who want to get started with Pygame at: http://pygame.seul.org/docs/tut/newbieguide.html It will take some time and effort to get to the point where you can write games in Python, so I would only recommend it if you're serious about learning to program. However, if you like computers and find programming interesting, then I think you'll enjoy the experience and give yourself some valuable new skills in the process! Good luck!
