Hi everyone! I'm Muthusrihemadharshini S.A. , and I’m excited to introduce myself for GSoC 2026. I am a regular contributor to pip with 2 merged Pull Requests so far. I am already very familiar with the codebase and packaging workflows. Additionally, I recently landed a Severity s2 Accessibility patch in Mozilla Firefox (Bug 1994079), where I resolved complex environment and bundling issues involving Python and Node.js. While I am waiting for the official 2026 project list for pip, I am eager to continue working on packaging tools or infrastructure-related projects within the PSF. I am also exploring projects in other sub-orgs like Borg Collective and FURY that require a mix of Python expertise and UI/Accessibility standards. I have read the contributor guidelines and am ready to start researching potential project ideas. Hi! I'm a 3rd-year CS student with a strong focus on *AI/ML and Python*. I have built projects using *Gemini API*,*TensorFlow and OpenCV*, and I'm very comfortable with *Flask* for backend work. I saw your GSoC 2026 ideas and I am particularly interested in *FURY *because of my experience with *Computer Vision and OCR*. I've already solved 150+ LeetCode problems . *I have experience in 3D spatial logic from my AR Navigation project."* This will make them realize you are a perfect fit for a graphics library and am ready to contribute to technical issues. How can I best get started?

Hi Terri and the Python GSoC team, Congratulations on PSF being selected for GSoC 2026! I noticed the Python GSoC ideas page still says mentoring orgs aren't announced and that sub-orgs can still apply. Are you currently still finalizing the list of sub-organizations? I'm hoping to contribute to the holidays library for my project this summer, and I just wanted to check if their pending PR to join as a sub-org is going to be accepted. Thanks, Paresh

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. My name is Muhammad Arslan, and I am a second-year undergraduate student majoring in Data Science. I am very interested in applying for Google Summer of Code 2026 and contributing to projects within the Python ecosystem. I am relatively new to open-source contributions, but I have been actively learning the workflow and best practices. So far, I have: Learned Git and GitHub fundamentals (branches, pull requests, reviews, upstream workflows) Started engaging with GSoC-related repositories and contribution guidelines Made my first documentation-focused pull request and learned a lot through the review process My primary interests lie in data analytics, data science, and machine learning, and I am currently exploring beginner-friendly documentation and small-fix issues to start contributing meaningfully and consistently. At this stage, my goal is to learn from the community, understand project expectations, and gradually build useful contributions.
