Hello Everyone, I'm Bertrand Cius, from New York City. I have been a student web developer on the Google learning platform for almost 3 years and am currently mastering Python with Agentic AI, Google Cloud, and W3Schools Python, and I'm also a member of Python.org and a participant in the Pursuit.org AI-native builder program in NYC. I'm so excited to be part of this community that will make a difference to people's lives by implementing their ideas and skills to make lives better and safer for World Holidays users. Since I'm actively learning agentic AI using the Python language, I'm looking to go more in-depth in your repository to see how the implementation of agentic AI can add value to World Holidays' framework. A good way to get started is usually to: - review the project repository and contribution guidelines - set up the development environment and run the test suite locally - look for issues labeled *good first issue*, *beginner-friendly*, or *documentation* - read through recent discussions and open pull requests to understand current priorities Since you’re just getting started, documentation improvements, test additions, and small bug fixes are often a great first contribution. About the Gsoc proposal selection

Dear Python GSoC Community, My name is Sampat Sheshagiri Naik, and I am interested in applying for Google Summer of Code 2026 through the Python Software Foundation. In Google Summer of Code, proposal selection—especially for Python-related organizations—is handled primarily by the mentors within each participating organization rather than by Google itself. When you submit a proposal, it goes directly to the organization you applied to, such as the Python Software Foundation or projects under ecosystems like Django, NumPy, or Pandas. The mentors in these communities carefully review each submission to evaluate how well you understand the project, whether your proposed solution is technically feasible, and how realistically you have planned your timeline according to the GSoC schedule. What strongly influences selection is not just the written proposal but your prior involvement with the project. Contributors who have already interacted with the codebase—by fixing bugs, improving documentation, or participating in discussions—tend to stand out. Mentors look for evidence that you can navigate their repository, follow coding standards, and communicate effectively. Since multiple applicants often compete for the same project, mentors compare proposals based on depth, clarity, and demonstrated commitment. After reviewing and ranking candidates, the organization submits its selected list to Google, which then finalizes and publishes the results. In practice, for Python-based organizations, the process is quite competitive because these projects attract many skilled applicants. A strong proposal alone is usually not enough; it needs to be backed by visible contributions and consistent interaction with the community. The overall idea is that selection is less about theoretical ideas and more about proving that you can already contribute meaningfully and are likely to successfully complete the project during the coding period.

GSoC 2026 Introduction: Electronics Engineering Student & Open Source Contributor

Hello everyone, I'm William, an undergraduate in Electronic Engineering and a Python Programming Intern with a strong enthusiasm for Python, Backend engineering, DevOps, and automation. I'm excited to introduce myself and eager to participate in GSoC 2026 under the umbrella of the Python Software Foundation. Over the past year, I have been busy developing an open source Python-based infrastructure and state-driven logic for an open-source educational project called "Acadexa," and other similar contributions, which have given me a new appreciation for solid architectural designs. I have already been getting hands-on experience in the ecosystem. I recently submitted a documentation pull request to the main PSF GSoC repository (currently under review), and I'm also busy exploring specific project ideas in CI/CD and performance monitoring in sub-organizations like DIPY and FURY.
