Hi Everyone, We successfully concluded PyCon India 2023 on 2nd October. I want to provide some final updates here on the mailing list. I'm thrilled to report that PyCon India 2023 not only met but exceeded our expectations in most of the areas. We saw more than 1,200 attendees at the conference, 400 for the workshops, and over 180 at the devsprints. Apart from a few minor hiccups, everything went smoothly. The special events, including the Tinkering space, Young Learners workshop, PyCafe, and Pyladies Luncheon, were greatly appreciated. We're proud to mention that 50+ kids attended the Young Learners workshop (completely free of cost) and 10+ participants explored the Tinkering space along with their parents. We had around 60+ speakers, including talks, workshops, panellists, mentors, and our keynote speakers. The feedback on the quality of the talks has been great so far; we expect more detailed feedback from the form we rolled out today. Additionally, we provided travel, accommodation and free tickets to approx 20 students who reached out to us seeking financial assistance, all of them had a great time attending 4 days of the conference. There were some limitations on the facility/infrastructure side (especially at JNTUH), but due to a conservative budget, we had to make some compromises, as mentioned in earlier emails. What's next? - Nivesh, the CoC WG lead from PyCon India 2023, will be publishing a transparency report later today on CoC violations and actions taken. - Snehith, the Sponsorship WG lead will send a report to all sponsors based on promised deliverables. - Once all videos are processed by the vendor, we'll do a quality check and make them available on YouTube, depending on the consent given. - After reimbursements for Speaker Travel and expenses made by some core team members, we'll publish detailed balance sheets from both of our finance partners (Konfhub and AFROST). - Once we wrap up everything for the 2023 event, hopefully by early November, I'll initiate an email for the PyCon India 2024 proposals. A special shout-out to all core group members and volunteers who helped selflessly make PyCon India 2023 possible. I won't name names, as it wouldn't be fair to only mention a few, but my heartfelt thanks go to everyone who contributed in any capacity. It was a great learning experience for all of us.
