Hello everyone, We're opening registrations on July 1. Here's the plan. We're using doattend (unless there are other options which people want to explore). The website is at http://pyconindia2010.doattend.com/. There will be a link from the site to that one. I will call the doattend guys tonight and discuss with them. Here are some potential questions. - How do college students without a credit card/bank account pay? Can they pay on the spot? Will they help in that? - APIs to get participants registered so far etc. (so that we can put it on the main site). - Rates. If there are issues which anyone sees, please let me know. We're thinking the prices should be Rs. 250 : Early bird (Early bird will be there till mid August or so). Rs. 350 : Spot registrations. Any comments? Thanks. -- ~noufal http://nibrahim.net.in

Okay. We need a *good* A/V team to record the event. It's something we should spend money on if necessary since quality is a must. Last year, it was just a phone call to justdial and me barking orders in broken urdu to a bunch of guys who didn't know what the event was about. While we have to engage with the parties only by early September, I think it's a good idea to fish out good A/V recording providers and talk with them. Any suggestions/ideas? CFP posters

What does everyone here think of actually printing out a largish poster and (snail) mailing it to colleges etc. around the country announcing the conference and the CFP? It costs a little but it *might* be worth it. I'm thinking LUGs, Large colleges etc. -- ~noufal http://nibrahim.net.in

Hello everyone, Sorry about the cross posting. We're falling short in our publicity department and to that end require some good artwork to brand the conference. There are 3 things which we need. 1. A logo. We have some from last year which we can recycle but I'd like that to be a last resort - http://wiki.python.org/moin/PyConIndiaLogos 2. Some badges and an ad banner - Three similar themed ones for "I Support PYCon India", "I am speaking at PyCon India" and "I am attending PyCon India". We have one submission at http://wiki.python.org/moin/PyConIndia2010/Badges but I'm sure we can get some more. 3. T-shirt design - This will probably depend on the logo since it will have to be there on the T but neverthless... I'm sure we have a lot of budding digital artists here who can do a good job on this. The name fo the artist will of course be prominently mentioned and you'll get really good bragging rights. :) For something like the conference we're working on to succeed,we need volunteers for all things.
