Call for Proposal for PyCon India 2025

Hi everyone, Thanks to everyone who were involved with PyCon India 2024. Hope you all had fun. We've received videos from our vendor, which however needs to be captioned before they can be made available on YouTube. We're working on that. But it is also a dependency for the financial report as it depends on whether or not the videos need further processing. So, while those are being delayed, I'd prefer not to delay the call for proposals for 2025 due to the same. These things can happen in parallel. Personally, I think we should do the city nomination for subsequent year and announce it during the last day of the conference itself. (Perhaps a suggestion for 2026.) So, If you're a city, local group, team, or individual interested in organising PyCon India 2025, we'd love to hear from you! Please send your proposals or expressions of interest to the mailing list by January 1st week, 2025. Keep it short and to the point, but make sure to share your vision for PyCon India 2025. This is an open invitation for anyone who wants to be a part of shaping the future of PyCon India! In case there's more than one proposal, the final will be decided based on majority vote on this mailing list itself. While there's no pre-conditions in organising PyCon India 2025, we would suggest at least a few experienced folks who've been involved in previous editions to participate in the team, as there's a steep learning curve to it. Call for Volunteers for PyCon India 2025

Hi everyone! I am excited to announce that PyCon India 2025 will be conducted in Bengaluru. We are still finalizing the dates and there will be a confirmation by the end of this week. We will share updates on that shortly. The tentative date of the conference will be in the second week of September 2025. You all might know that PyCon India has forever been a community driven event. It’s the people who have made the event so successful over the years. As we get into action mode to prepare for the 2025 event, I would like to invite you to become a part of the volunteer team. Interested folks can help us offline as well as online, there is scope for both kinds of involvement. Our volunteer team is divided into several teams, and we call them “Working Groups”. Some of them include Program Committee, Website, Design, Content and Social Media Communications, Logistics, Technology. These are non-exhaustive and in no priority order. As a volunteer in the team, you will get to work with the minds helping with the conference for many many years and you will get to learn a lot from working with them. If you are interested in joining us, please fill out the volunteer interest form: https://in.pycon.org/volunteer. I will shortly schedule the first online meeting of our existing volunteers so that we can touch base on the existing work. Please be tuned into this mailing list for the meeting details. Last year, we also did some in-person volunteer meetups. We plan to have them more often and earlier this year. We understand that not everyone can join them and to make the experience better, we will be having detailed meeting notes for the offline meetups as well. (If we get a company to host us for the offline volunteer meets, we might as well be able to live stream and have people join us through video conferencing) Thank you again for considering volunteering for the conference.
