Hi, Below are some of the important dates regarding Pycon India 2014. Please let us know your opinion on the dates, so that we can close this and create the CFP policy document asap. - Call for proposals opens: *30 Jan 2014* - Proposal submission deadline: *30 May 2014* - Proposal acceptance: *30 June 2014* - First presentation upload: *30 July 2014* - Final presentation upload (with changes if any): *30 August 2014* Regards, Kiran Gangadharan
Hi Most of them look fine, but based on number of talks submitted last year do we want to increase the number of days between proposal submission deadline and proposal acceptance deadline. Also are we using the same funnel to accept the proposals or something different this time as it should be ready before 30th Jan 2014. Hi Idea is open early, keep promoting the conference. People will always submit in last moment. 4 month time is for promoting. We should use 4 months for reaching out to previous speakers, companies who are working in python, work with proposed speakers to refine the content etc ... +1 for 4 month time. Sorry for replying twice. It is good to have buffer time to extend the dates so current schedule looks good. On Mon, Dec 30, 2013 at 11:44 PM, me kracekumar <me@kracekumar.com> wrote:

Yeah. We had to reopen CFP for few days last time. Let's give enough time for more people to know and have more time to decide and prepare their CFP. @Konark, Funnel and the first version of the Website will be ready and up by 30th Jan. I have a similar concern. That's 4 months between opening and closing of CFP. Isn't it a bit too long? Because as far as I recollect, most of the talk proposals were submitted during the final month last time. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
