hi, can this be done - I am talking to a company and they are doing their budget for the coming year - if we take too much time the budget may not be available for us. -- regards Kenneth Gonsalves

nothing seems to be happening. All we need to do is finalise the amounts for the various types of sponsors - maybe same as last year or 1.5 times or double it? I do not see why this is taking so long. On Thu, 2011-01-27 at 16:53 +0530, Noufal Ibrahim wrote:

Get well soon Kausik.

Take a look http://nibrahim.net.in/prospectus.pdf. It's raw LaTeX so no frills but I think it contains all the information that's necessary. I need the venue and other information to fill in (or shall we just keep that away for now?) If this is fine, I'll start using it to contact people who are interested in sponsoring the event. As for actual budgetary calculations, we'll wing it. Concerns? --
the only information I need is the amounts - if the consensus is for 3-1-.5 L, let us confirm that first.
i think that would work well we should go with these numbers. -- Kausikram Krishnasayee Company: http://silverstripesoftware.com | Webpage: kausikram.in | Blog: blog.kausikram.in | Twitter: http://twitter.com/kausikram | Email: kausikram@gmail.com | Mobile: +91 9884246490

Venue need not be there. but i would suggest we add a USD equivalent of it at a conversion rate of INR 40. and put it there along with the INR values. -- Kausikram Krishnasayee Company: http://silverstripesoftware.com | Webpage: kausikram.in | Blog: blog.kausikram.in | Twitter: http://twitter.com/kausikram | Email: kausikram@gmail.com | Mobile: +91 9884246490

I've updated the document. I've used 46 USD as the conversion rate (from xe.com) and rounded off the numbers a little. Take a look. --

If no one has any objections by the end of the day, I think we can go ahead and use this. Kenneth, you mentioned a company that was a potential sponsor. You might be able to use this with them. --

Well, you already have the amounts then. I thought it might be a good idea to give them a "document" --

I have to wait for the end of the day and official word that the amounts are confirmed. At one of our fossconfs, platinum was put at 1 L, and later the group decided to change it to 2 L - unfortunately the guy who was doing the brochure did not check his mail and sent the brochures to the parties (who were prepared to pay 2L) and they wound up signing for 1L. So am a bit cautious. -- regards Kenneth Gonsalves

Makes sense. Our amounts and brochure are still in beta. At the end of the day, we'll carve them in stone and make it official. --

Correct. One 3L slot Two 1L slots Four 50k slots + sponsorships in kind This is the formal statement but we can negotiate when we actually get interested parties. --

Some suggestions. 1. Provide at least 2 contact numbers. In case one is not able to answer, another one is a backup. 2. Make sure contact@in.pycon.org is aliased to only the list of folks doing/supporting the sponsorship effort. Try to keep this list to 3 or shorter. Few grammar mistakes I found 1. The sentence "Your sponsorship..." belongs to the 3rd para after the 2nd line, not where it is right now. 2. Change "Pycon India organizers" -> "Pycon India organizing committee" in 3rd para. 3. Change "relies" -> "rely" on 3rd para. 4. Do either 2 and 3 or Change this entire line "The PyCon India organizers and the IPSS relies on corporate sponsors to make the conference a big success and happen every year" to "The PyCon India organizing committe and the IPSS require the support of corporate sponsors to make sure that the event happens smoothly and efficiently every year. Please sponsor and support Pycon India 2011 to make it a grand success". or something similar. The current line looks vaguely worded.
