Feedback and improvement suggestion
Hi All, Please share your feedback and improvement point for us so we can make PyCon India 2015 much better. -- Thanks, Vijay
Hi Vijay, Most speakers had some issues with their presentation not being visible for the participants at the back. Perhaps ask the speakers to scale the fonts big enough for people at the back to see or get some LCDs at the back that'd show the same ppt. Just my thoughts, apologies if it's stupid. :) Regards, Tenzin Kunkyab On Mon, Sep 29, 2014 at 9:17 AM, vijay kumar <vnbang2003@gmail.com> wrote:

+1 We discussed this on the thread earlier, but didnt end up taking action: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/QaMxo01MdVBfDQJeCxHO I vote for larger screens next year and/or better projector resolution if possible. If that's not possible, we should add larger fonts to the speaker guidelines.

The LCDs at the back is a good suggestion. I have seen it used well at an Amazon workshop, at the same venue. Telling the speakers to use bigger font size may not always work, especially when showing code.

No idea can be stupid, it may only be irrelevant for a specific environment or a particular period of time. So take back the apology. ;-) - rejy (rmc)

I came by the LCD rates (as a replacement for the projectors) at the last moment. Of course they are wayyyyy better than what we had this time or anytime before, with no contrast issues whatsoever. But they cost almost 1L per day. I really wish we can get them for next year.
Just my thoughts, apologies if it's stupid. :)

Hi, This was my first PyCon and I don't know how things are/were before/elsewhere, but here's my 2cents. It would have been great to have some time gap between sessions. Even 5-10 minutes would have been fine. I found myself rushing hopping auditoriums, only to miss the Q/A at one and the introduction at the other. -- Regards Saimadhav Heblikar
hi, my humble request , kindly share the videos and pdf as the presentation so that I can learn from it its my suggestion is make on line presence like the webinar etc and also the real time video access so that people like me are unable to attend at the last hour, and also we can watch it even on mobile makes us very happy as we will get. with best regards, yours k.bala bhaskar On 9/29/14, Saimadhav Heblikar <saimadhavheblikar@gmail.com> wrote:

I have personally felt that having a presentation remote device with a laser pointer is so much useful to the speaker. It allows more freedom of movement to the speaker, and thereby allows a more interactive session for speakers who know how to utilise it. We may not even have to purchase these devices for the conference. We can source them from those who are willing to loan them out, as long as we can ensure that they are returned safely at the end of the conference.
-thanks.
apologise for any grammar mistake.
Gramma and speling mistakes prove that you are human ...though you would never want those on your resume. :-P - rejy (rmc)

On the first day, the mics in the smaller auditorium were bad throughout the first half. At one point during Q&A, the volunteer had to run back and forth between the speaker and the audience since there was only one working mic. And that was a hand held mic, which made it hard for the speaker to do a code walkthrough which had been planned. For next year, it would be ideal if we can figure out how to sort out the mic situation before the start of the conference. AFAIK, things were fine from the second half of day1 and all of day 2, so I'm not exactly sure what the technical issue was.
I think we should have tested the mics before the start of first session. We were able to test and fix the minor adjustments during lunch time for the second session. Lesson learned is to test 10 15 minutes before each session starts. Thanks Numan On Sep 30, 2014 11:03 PM, "Arvi Krishnaswamy" <arvi@alumni.iastate.edu> wrote:
