First version of the PyCon India 2014 website
Hello Everyone, The mailing list has been quiet for sometime. So thought of stirring it up a little. Yes, the first version of the website is live now. Just head for http://in.pycon.org/2014/ and let us know what you think. If there is a bug, *please* let us know. We'll open the Funnel and blog very soon. If you like the website, you can start spreading it around. If you're tweeting, last year we used #pyconindia2013, you can maybe start using #pyconindia2014 now. We need the website to spread around the globe. Feedback are most welcome. ---- Best Regards, Bibhas Ch Debnath
Wow! Just love the color scheme, and the graphics. Neat. :) Does the website remain static all along? Sankét On Tue, Jan 7, 2014 at 1:32 AM, Bibhas Ch Debnath <me@bibhas.in> wrote:

We could have direct app store links to the mobile apps and website links of the various cab companies, instead of just numbers. That could be really handy for some people. -- Mitesh Ashar Sent with Airmail On 7 January 2014 at 8:04:46 am, raghu (graghav@gmail.com) wrote: Well structured and neat :) great job On Tue, Jan 7, 2014 at 1:41 AM, Sanket Saurav <sanketsaurav@gmail.com> wrote: Cool! Hi Bibhas If I remember correctly the folks from PSF weren't quite pleased with the modifications to the Python Logo (the python-peacock thing) in 2011. Are you sure they would be cool with the colour changes? It looks great, by the way :) Regards -- Anuvrat Parashar <http://anuvrat.in> http;//anuvrat.in
IIRC, it was about using only one half of the logo. That may not be an issue here, but still we can cross check. Ah! What a beautiful site. Love the origami style, love the layout. and love the color scheme (but the majority will want the "pythonic" color scheme though) Typos spotted: Error: PyCon India, the premier conferene in India on using and Correction: conference Error: annualy by the Python developer community and it attracts the Correction: annually Error: best Python prgrammers from across the country and abroad. Correction: programmers The other thing I noticed is that the current font doesn't look that readable (Windows 7). Maybe Proxima Nova can be used (example: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/) ? The font is perfect on Firefox (Windows 7), okay-ish in IE 10, but on Chrome (Windows 7) it is barely readable. Aby James
@Aby, can you provide a screenshot? On Jan 7, 2014 12:55 PM, "Aby James" <gits1225@gmail.com> wrote:

Don't forget to view those screenshots in full size (imgur by default doesn't show the image in its full resolution) Also, what frameworks are being used (I see css reset and font awesome)? Aby James
The illustration and concept is nice ... May be a little brighter shade of red/pink which ever that's should lift the overall mode of the site. Like the illlustration at bottom too. Good Job. On Tue, Jan 7, 2014 at 12:41 PM, Aby James <gits1225@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Ankur, There are other colors you may like, but those sections are not live yet. Once they are, you'll see the site in full glory. :-) @Aby James, thanks for pointing them out. Will fix. Will consider the font too. @Abdul Muneer, will look into it. On Jan 7, 2014 12:50 PM, "Ankur Gupta" <versesane@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes, they are okay with color changes as long as the share remains the same. I just sent a mail to psf-trademarks asking them for about it. Lets wait for their response. Anand
