Poster in college/companies
Hi, Am thinking this year we should reach out to colleges and companies to create awareness about Pycon conference. We need to create a poster and need people/ address to send out this poster to college/ companies so we reach maximum people as possible. What do you guess think? With Thanks Vijay

Reaching out to colleges, especially if you can find the right student leader sort of guy is great for getting student attendance. Regards, Gora
We need to wait until we know who are our keynote speakers. Noufal, any updates? Anand On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, vijay wrote:

None yet. Hilary Mason said that she can't come. I've emailed Armin and am waiting for a reply. I think Kiran and some of the other hasgeek people are in touch with him through their flask work. If there are any channels other than email they can use, it'd be useful. Kiran? [...] -- Cordially, Noufal http://nibrahim.net.in

University of Pune has recently introduced Python in their BE computer science course. Venkatesh Halli, who I'm ccing in this mail, is going to deliver a talk on Python during the first week of July. He and I both agree that this would be a good time to advertise PyCon in colleges. Venkatesh, please keep a track of the poster distribution process, and get a few for the college. -- JD

Here's a link to the syllabus. [PDF warning] http://www.unipune.ac.in/Syllabi_PDF/revised_2013/engg/SESyllabus_Computer_E... Page 7 has a few assignments that are to be done using Python.

Is it absolutely necessary to wait for finalizing the keynote speakers before reaching out to colleges and students? Wouldn't the general idea/overview of the focus of the conference be reasonably complete to attract them? I realize that the poster may require the keynote speaker listing. -- sankarshan mukhopadhyay <https://twitter.com/#!/sankarshan>

Perhaps but it would be nice to have the keynote speaker on the poster as a highlight. I haven't heard back from him. I'll email him today again. [...] -- Cordially, Noufal http://nibrahim.net.in
