The first 3 logos are bad for darker backgrounds. Kushal -- Staff, Freedom of the Press Foundation CPython Core Developer Director, Python Software Foundation https://kushaldas.in

Branding - branding_5.jpg looks good. The color schemes all look very funky, but I would probably go with the first one.

If we end up using the multi-language concept from branding_2, we will need to make sure all the translations are correct. The Urdu version in the current logo is incorrect. Thanks, Ankur

I agree with Kushal Das that the currently suggested first 3 logos are not going to look good on a dark background. The concept behind branding_3 is nice! IMO it would probably look good with a border on the upper half and a better choice of colors. I like colour scheme 1 (matches Python's) and am not a fan of any of the typographical suggestions. Best, Pradyun

Hi Siddharth, The design is being outsourced to a vendor. If you have any suggestions on the designs posted, you can add them to this mail thread. The suggestions will be used by the vendor to improve the design. HTH. Regards, Vijay
The concept used for the first three logos are good. The third one looks good. Since the logos are a bit detailed, we need to ensure that it can be replicated well on the necessary articles (banners, volunteer id cards, notebooks? (Not sure of the articles)) Logo Concept 5 might be interpreted to have political connotations, especially with elections around the corner. Just my thought :) Color Schema 1 works best. The text stands out better. Followed by Color Schema 2. Is it just me or does the tower actually have two eyes penciled in and a stern mouth? Suggestion: Since Chennai is also known as "gateway to south India" and known for its temples and culture. If we can, we should present some of the uniqueness of the city in the logo. The background in these logo are not reflecting any of these uniqueness IMO. -- Regards, Foss lover Mohit Bansal

Hi Mohit, Thanks for the suggestion! Chennai and Tamil Nadu, sure is the land of temples. But the problem here is the religious tint, that might not go well with the audience at large? Regards, Vijay

Agreed! I like branding_1 and branding_2, but might look better with lighter background. -- Foss lover Mohit Bansal

I think the first three logos need a border on the top portion as well. They look unfinished as of now. I like the fifth logo but people might misinterpret it to be a political statement.

These look much nicer. :D Colors: Since yellow and blue are our final colors, I do think the backgrounds for the logo should be primarily dark, since they have a better contrast with black than white. Logos: I now like C the most. [1] All 3 concepts are nice. Typography: I like 5 and 1. The rest don't seem very good to me. The wave-lighthouse concept is great! :) [1]: it has balanced "halves" in terms of the colors; unlike B where yellow is more "dense" than blue and, A where yellow is less "dense". Best, Pradyun

The B series on the dark background because of the contrast. Each of the typography has their own flaw and I find none of them to be really eye catching. Logo - None of them to be very honest. In both series B and C, the lower python eye looks bad because there's too much going on in the body. Typography - w1.jpg, w6.jpg

I like the B series for the logo. However, I am concerned that the shades of yellow and blue that have been chosen do not look on plain white background. When it comes to websites, we can use an off-white background but it might be a problem while printing stuff. It looks very good on dark backgrounds though. I love the typography concepts this time! My vote is for w1.
