Taking stock of the situation
I'll be frank and say that I'm worried. We have around 2.5 months left for September. We don't have any local sponsors yet. The CFP was announced and we have just a few submissions. There's no buzz on blogs, twitter etc. which keeps the thing going. I don't know if there's soemthing on FB/LinkedIN. I also don't know what the situation is on the rest of the things like wifi and A/V. I also don't know if there's on the ground activity that's not being advertised on the list. However, the overall situation is kind of bleak. I don't want to get into a situation where we make some commitments like keynote speaker etc. and then cancel later. In short, a stand needs to be taken and some things to be made clear. What's the situation right now? my personal take is that there has been some discussion on this list on high standards for talks which has scared people off. (scared me anyway) -- regards Kenneth Gonsalves http://lawgon.livejournal.com/

Hmmm. That wasn't the reaction I expected and if it's a problem, we should remedy that. Also, I think you should have voiced this concern on the list as soon as the thread started. The CFP, however, is just a small part of the thing. What about the rest of organisation? -- ~noufal http://nibrahim.net.in I distinctly remember forgetting that. -Clara Barton

Well, kind of echoes my thinking. I am kind of worried about this "dead silence" in the list which gives the feeling nothing is happening on the ground. Where is the venue ? Who are the sponsors ? Who are the guys calling the shots on the ground ? There is a definite lack of leadership this year. Sitting in Bangalore, we only can have so much of idea of what is happening on the ground in Pune. If the concerns are uncalled for, great. Can some of those running the show calm the airs ?

The venue is confirmed. We need to start talking to the sponsors.
I agree not much has been happening lately, specifically in terms of seeking sponsorships from Pune and the track 3 / tutorial track I believe this would be a good time to get it going, as for event logistics issues as well. Dhananjay

Any updates ? I still don't find any sponsor slots filled.
