SNS structure with KWANT
Dear Authors, My name is Iftekher Chowdhury. I'm currently trying to understand KWANT better and I find it really amazing. I am trying to model Superconductor-Normal-Superconductor (SNS) with KWANT following the Superconductor-Normal script provided in the documentation. I have made several attempts but I failed to produce two symmetric differential conductance peak around the two barriers in the scattering region. I am sure I do not understand properly few of the key concepts addressed in KWANT. I have attached the trial scripts herewith. I would be reallt grateful if you could kindly advice and guide me on my error in understanding and how to produce two differential conducting peak in the SNS structure. Kind Regards Iftekher NOTE: Please cc me kindly for any response in order for me to receive the followup via email.
Dear Iftekher, There are Kwant and Physics aspects to your question. 1) Physics: Kwant can treats systems with more than one superconducting lead IF and only IF all superconducting leads share the same chemical potential. If not, you need the time dependent version of Kwant, which we have not released yet, to properly deals with, e.g. multiple andrrev reflection. Normal leads however can have arbitrary chemical potentials. If you need to clarify these points a good book is the one by De Gennes so get started. 2) Your two scripts are a bit obscure. For instance in trial1 you add both a normal and a superconducting lead on the left (which leads to some sort of weird 3 terminal devices). In trial2 you creates a sys1 which is not used anywhere. It is not clear to me what system you are trying to create. Best regards, Xavier Le 17 juil. 2014 à 05:26, Md.Iftekher Chowdhury <mdiftekher@yahoo.com> a écrit :
